We slept with the family in Lat Krabang.
Pia, especially when we are in Thailand, regularly has contact with an old friend, Bansri,
from Apeldoorn, who has been living with her husband in her birthplace Udon Thani for years.
But Bansri has not responded to the messages Pia sends for some time.
Through her daughter-in-law in Apeldoorn, Pia hears that Bansri is seriously ill and has
been in hospital for some time.
The photo that Pia receives from Apeldoorn gives us the impression that Bansri has lost a
lot of weight.
The stories from Apeldoorn are moderately optimistic, Bansri is now doing a bit better and
she will probably be able to go home soon.
Pia wants to go to Bansri to visit the sick.
We agree to go there when we return next weekend from a few days away to
Haad Chao Lao with the family.
We want to sleep in a hotel in Udon Thani so as not to burden Bansri and her husband with
taking care of us.
In the afternoon, Tom takes Pia to the hairdresser, where she has an appointment at one
o'clock.
Then Tom drives back and has the whole house to himself for the entire afternoon.
